Air quality advisory for Crook County and eastern Douglas and Lane counties [Aviso sobre la calidad del aire]

  QUICK FACTS Location: Crook County, eastern Douglas County and eastern Lane County End date: Sunday evening, Sept. 7 Smoke source: Emigrant Fire and Marks Creek Fire   ** Información en español ** The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and Lane Regional Air Protection Agency issued an air quality advisory Friday, Sept. 5, for Crook County and eastern Douglas and Lane counties due to smoke from the Emigrant and Marks Creek fires. The agencies expect the air quality advisory to last until at least Sunday evening, Sept. 7. DEQ and partner agencies will continue to monitor smoke in the area. DEQ also expects intermittent smoke in several parts of Oregon until at least Sunday afternoon because of multiple wildfires in the region. Affected areas include Baker, Deschutes, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa and northern Wasco counties, as well as the Cottage Grove and Roseburg areas. QUICK FACTS Location:  Southern Curry County and Josephine County for smoke; Medford-Ashland and Hermiston areas for smog End date:  Saturday, July 22 Smoke source:  Flat Fire and fires in southeastern Washington **   Información en español  ** The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality extended an air quality advisory on Thursday, July 20 for southern Curry County and expanded it to all of Josephine County due to smoke from the Flat Fire. DEQ also issued a new advisory for the Medford-Ashland and Hermiston areas due to elevated levels of ozone pollution, or smog. Smoke from local wildfires is combining with hot temperatures in these areas to produce smog. DEQ expects air quality in these areas to decline in late afternoons as smog forms. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory on Monday, July 17, 2023 for southern Curry County and parts of western Josephine County due to smoke from the Flat Fire. DEQ expects the air quality advisory to last until at least Wednesday, July 19. DEQ and partner agencies will continue to monitor smoke in the area. DEQ expects intermittent smoke throughout the area. Air quality may deteriorate during evening hours.
