Air quality advisory for Klamath and Jefferson Counties

QUICK FACTS Location: Klamath and Jefferson Counties End date: Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. Smoke source: Hagelstein and Elk fires in Klamath County, and the Cram fire in Jefferson County ** Información en español **  The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory for Wednesday, July 16, 2025, for Klamath and Jefferson Counties due to smoke from Hagelstein and Elk fires in Klamath County and the Cram fire in Jefferson County. DEQ expects the air quality advisory to last until at least 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025. DEQ and partner agencies will continue to monitor smoke in the area. DEQ expects intermittent smoke in Crook and Deschutes Counties. Air quality may improve by 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on weather.
