Smoke Forecast for Miller Complex -- Sept. 2, 2017

Smoke Outlook:  Miller Complex Issued for: Saturday, September 2, 2017

Air Resource Advisor: Willie Begay

Fire Activity:  Fire Behavior will increase rapidly if the inversion/smoke layer burns off. Fuel moisture conditions have changed enough that aspect and elevation are no longer holding up the fire spread. Spotting potential will be relatively high. Increase in wind speeds or direction can increase the fire behavior.

Smoke: The inversion/smoke layer will return today and will impact fire behavior. Smoky conditions of the fire will provide shading and the lack of air movement to withhold the increase in fire behavior.

*The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Quality Alert in and around the outlook area and is in effect until further notice. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels.
