Smoke
Blanket Creek Fire - An increase in fire activity added more smoke to the area
which continues to affect regional haze. The greatest impacts will remain mostly loca
with higher levels for Prospect and Crater Lake National Park. Air quality in other communities around the
fires can expect to see ‘moderate’ smoke levels; and potentially periods of
‘Unhealthy For Sensitivie Groups’ depending on fire activity. Winds are
expected to come from the west Friday through Saturday night pushing smoke to
the east.
Spruce Lake Fire
- Tourists at Crater Lake National Park will be able to view and smell smoke
in the park. Smoke from area fires may also hinder visibility. Smoke concentrations
will increase with elevation in the park.
Fire
Blanket Creek Fire – While atmospheric instability has subsided, conditions
remain hot and dry. The fire is roughly
3,000 acres and fire activity is expected to persist. These conditions may lead to increased smoke
impacts locally.
Spruce Lake Fire –
Increased fire activity yesterday brought the Spruce Lake Fire to roughly 3,600
acres. Fire movement has primarily been running south and spotting to the
east. The fire is expected to lose intensity as the fire moves southeast.

predictions are based on anticipated weather and fire activity. AQI estimates
for sites do not represent a full 24-hour time period. Instead they reflect a period of time
within the day where smoke impacts would be greatest.
