Smoke Forecast for High Cascades Complex -- Aug. 25, 2017

Smoke Outlook:  High Cascades Complex
Issued for: Friday 25, 2017
Air Resource Advisor: Jen Croft

Fire Activity:  High Cascades is reported at 13, 656 acres.  Pockets of activity were seen in the Blanket fire and Spruce Lake fire along with interior smoldering and occasional single tree torching.

Smoke:  SW winds and unstable air returning the region will increase the fire activity and smoke production on all fires in the geographic area.  Smoke from the Eclipse Complex and Chetco Bar will continue to push into the area late afternoon, impacting Chiloquin, Klamath, and Prospect. Pockets of clear air may appear in the early morning and late evening, however these pockets will be isolated in nature and not widespread for the entire forecast area.

Tourists at Crater Lake National Park can expect to see and smell smoke. Visitors should check for road closures and other announcements ahead of time.  Visitors can check https://www.nps.gov/crla/planyourvisit/conditions.htm for updates.
