Medford, OR—The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and health officials in Jackson, Josephine and Douglas counties are urging residents to take precautions from wildfire smoke.
At 1 p.m. DEQ air quality monitors in Roseburg showed unhealthy air quality readings over the past 24 hours but conditions were trending toward more moderate levels. An unhealthy reading on the Air Quality Index means people with heart or lung disease, children and older adults should avoid all outdoor activity and that everyone else should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
