Conditions remain warm and very dry
today.   Winds today will be 11-17 mph
with gusts to 30 mph from the NNW.  Transport
winds are expected to be out of the north.
Surface inversion is predicted to lift in Unity around 12:00 PM.  Crews today will patrol and mop-up the
north and east perimeter of the fire.
Overnight, fire crews completed blacklining the west perimeter. Most
of the activity seen yesterday was due to the interior burning.  Today crews will continue to secure the
western perimeter and clear snags to prepare for options in the southern
perimeter. The fire is now 25% contained at 29,097 acres.   Unity conditions in the morning will
  vary from Unhealthy
to Very Unhealthy smoke levels becoming Good by 11:00AM.  Baker
City, Burns, John Day, Vale and Prairie City
  will have Good
  smoke levels today.  Expect smoke
  settling into the drainages overnight.
  Smoke conditions tomorrow in Unity
will be more elevated from mid-day through evening as the light west winds
will not be enough to move smoke out of the area.   |
