36 Pit Fire
Air Quality Report and Outlook for 9/20/14
|
Offshore winds from the east are
setting up for today, with warm dry conditions conducive to increased fire
activity and associated smoke production moving towards the west. This pattern will continue through this
evening before changing around to the west-southwest Sunday afternoon, which
will then push smoke back toward the Mt. Hood area. Air quality conditions will depend greatly
upon the actual intensity of the fire today and tomorrow, which has been
reasonably inactive the last few days.
Again, smoke impacts this
weekend are not expected to be anywhere near as bad as it was last weekend.
West to southwest winds are expected Monday-Tuesday
with a good potential of wet conditions for the latter half of the week. Updates will be issued any time there are
changes from anticipated conditions.
