36 Pit Fire
Air Quality Report and Outlook for 9/19/14
|
Friday will be a transition day from
the moist flow we have been experiencing over to a warmer, dry offshore
pattern for Saturday. Light winds
today will not disperse or transport smoke to any great extent, resulting in Moderate air quality
conditions close to the 36 Pit Fire and Good
air quality elsewhere. Winds will
become northerly overnight tonight, turning easterly on Saturday. Smoke will move south then west and will
become noticeable in Molalla and into the Willamette Valley, approaching Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups in some areas, although nowhere near as bad as it was
last weekend. Firefighters are
continuing the aggressive attack today in anticipation of tomorrow’s warmer,
drier conditions. Updates will be
issued any time there are changes from anticipated conditions.
