Sunday June 6, 2014 - Kipuka Fire - Deschutes County

Good news.  The Kipuka Fire is just about over and no longer a threat to air quality.    A walk along the fire perimeter yesterday revealed only very light smoke being emitted from smoldering tree stumps and downed logs, perhaps only 10 of these per acre, as illustrated in the pictures below. 

Air quality in Bend remained in the "good" category throughout the duration of this fire, as illustrated in the graph below.

Given the short duration of this fire, the relatively little amount of smoke, the air quality monitor that was to be installed in Sunriver to monitor smoke was not installed.    This is the last entry on this smoke blog for the Kipuka Fire.
