Oregon Smoke Information

Monday, August 31, 2015 With the decrease in fire activity and associated smoke production, air quality has greatly improved across southwestern Oregon.  Consequently, smoke reports for this area will no longer be issued. Should the situation change significantly, reports will resume.

Above: A photo taken around noon today from the Highway 26 viewpoint northeast of Prairie City.  Smoke from the Canyon Creek Fire was heading in northeast direction. Above: An Environmental Beta Attenuation Monitor (EBAM) placed in Prairie City.  This machine measures the amount of smoke in the air (specifically PM 2.5).  Concentrations of smoke exceeded 500 ug/m3 today in the morning hours.
